Lori Monteith is a dedicated individual who has dedicated her life to helping others. She currently serves as the Treasurer of the West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition (WIBCC), a role that she has held for ten years.
Lori has been married for many years and is the proud mother of four children. She is also soon to become a grandmother of six grandchildren.
Lori began her career as an LPN in 1978 and worked in this role until 1988. She then left nursing to work in the family oil business, where she could spend more time with her children and volunteer as a PTA Mom, class Mom, and Girl Scout Leader for eight years.
In 2003, Lori was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 43. After surgery and treatment, she decided to go back into the medical field to help other women going through a similar experience. Lori worked with her breast surgeon for nine years, helping newly diagnosed patients navigate their breast cancer journey. She has met many wonderful women through support groups and continues to help women navigate their diagnosis.
Lori has been volunteering with the WIBCC for sixteen years, helping with various fundraisers and participating in the Long Island two-day breast cancer walk for ten years. She became a board member of the WIBCC ten years ago and currently serves as the Treasurer.
Lori's dedication to helping others is truly admirable, and her commitment to the West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition has made a significant impact on the lives of many women.
