Pink Flags of October

Help the West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition support October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month by participating in an extraordinary event! This is your opportunity to celebrate "in honor of" or "in memory of" your family and friends  whose lives have been affected by Breast Cancer.

In 2012, WIBCC had a vision to fly hundreds of pink flags during the month of October to raise awareness of breast cancer. With the help of Good Samaritan University Hospital, that vision became a reality.

Breast Cancer Awareness month is a time when family, community and tradition are so important, and the pink flags have become an inspiring annual tradition that offers meaningful pause for the many women, men and families on Long Island who have been impacted by breast cancer.  With every flag flown, we reflect on those that are fighting the battle, those that survived the battle, and those that have lost the battle with personalized ribbons to fly with the flags in memory of, in honor of or in celebration of a loved one with breast cancer.
